Message From Stuart White, Managing Director
What a year 2009 has been!
Against the backdrop of a changing and challenging economic environment, I am pleased to say that Pacific has had a very successful year. I wish to acknowledge your fantastic support and the superb efforts of the Pacific team.
It was great to receive feedback in our annual survey confirming that it is our service, systems and staff which sets us apart in the industry. The result is consistent with our own view that relationships are everything in business. Accordingly, we put this at the centre of everything we do. We are continually investing in our people and our systems to further evolve our service offering and build on our valued relationships.
I am very excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing to partner with your business in 2010.
The team and I at Pacific would like to once again thank you for your support and wish you a safe and happy festive season.
All The Best,

NPS Feedback Turns Into Action
The NPS team is now working on turning your feedback into action. We are currently putting a strategy in place to improve in the key areas you have told us we should be focusing on, which include Edge system enhancements, flexibility on processes and developing new product offerings.
Some system enhancements are already in the pipeline which we are due to be released shortly.

Thanks again to those who took part. The survey is an important feedback opportunity for us, which we take very seriously. We are now driven to put in place the type of enhancements that will make your experience in dealing with Pacific, even easier and more enjoyable!
Malcolm MacDonald Rides Back In On The Pacific Wave.
We are delighted to welcome back of one of our original leadership team members - Malcolm MacDonald. After spending the past three years as the IT Leader for GE Capital’s Fleet & Equipment Finance business, Malcolm has now taken on a new role as Pacific’s Product Innovation and IT Leader. Malcolm will manage the existing Pacific technology team and focus on new innovations.
Malcolm has a great deal of experience in the premium funding industry and in the past has been responsible for some major developments that changed the way funding is offered. This makes him the ideal choice for the role and we are very excited about having him back!

IAAA Conference 2009
The members of IAAA gathered in Melbourne from October 15 – 17 for their 2009 conference, which focused on the effects of global warming on the general insurance industry.
Pacific was proud to be a sponsor at the conference, and brought along GE Energy CEO Tim Rourke to speak about environmental trends and some local GE projects that are finding solutions to tackle environmental challenges.
Elders In The Land Of The Long White Cloud
Pacific South Australian State Manager, Quenten Watkins attended the recent Elders Insurance Agents Association Business Forum in New Zealand. The forum was held in two cities: Rotorua and Auckland, with around 80 Elders delegates making the trip.
The scenic location gave the group much to enjoy during their conference excursions, including the Pacific sponsored dinner at the unique Blue Baths. Everyone dressed up to fit the bill, and they were treated to a 1930's inspired evening of dining and music.

IAA Find ’20 Good Reasons’ To Celebrate On The Gold Coast
Around 300 IAA delegates descended on the Gold Coast's Royal Pines Resort November 20 - 21 for their 20 Good Reasons Conference, with Pacific as one of the sponsors.
Our team enjoyed meeting all the delegates during the Trade Exhibition, and seeing everyone dress up for the 'Sporting All-Stars' BBQ.
Congratulations to all the award winners who were recognised at the Gala Awards Dinner, and to IAA for another great conference

‘One Minute With’.... Jane Muir Account Manager Victoria

Jane, how long have you been with Pacific?
I am in my 10th year!
How has the 2009 business year been for you?
Every year has its challenges, however on the whole, with the support of our fantastic team in Victoria and Lachlan, targets have been hit and I have had fun along the way - can't ask for more than that really!
The economic environment over the past 12 months was pretty tough, and I feel that our brokers have really stepped up, and have been a great support to me. We have worked together to get some of the more 'challenging' deals approved, with some flexibility and some 'tweaking'. Our Brokers have been really good in managing the fine balancing act of getting involved with clients and supporting Pacific's requirements. We had a big surge of arrears and write offs early in 2009 but this has now levelled out with us all working together.
What are you doing for Christmas?
All the usual family stuff...including overspending on gifts, loads of cooking and over-indulging! All that will be followed by large amounts of exercise to combat those excesses!
What will your New Year's Resolution be?
To have a bit more 'me' time, including doing at least one course focusing on nutrition. I also aim to have a great overseas holiday - oh - and hitting next year's budget of course!

Our SA Bro Grows A Mo
Gordon Sweeney, an Account Manager from our South Australian branch, recently took part in the month long moustache growing 'Movember' campaign. The campaign raises money for mens’ health issues with a particular emphasis on prostate cancer and depression in men.
Gordon grew a 'pet grey caterpillar' as he called it, and together with his son in law, raised a total of $850.
Well done Gordon on a great effort for a worthy cause.
